When will I receive my email account?
Student email is hosted on Gmail and is created within 24 hours of your application being processed.
How do I access my email? (From Remote Location / From Campus Network)
You can access your student Gmail account by clicking on the Student Email - Gmail link under the launchpad in the home section of myLakeland. You can access it within the Student section of myLakeland by clicking on the Student Email icon under Quick Tools.
Access Account on Mobile
You can set up your student email as a Gmail account on your device’s default email app using your entire student email address as your username and your myLakeland password as the password.
Alternatively, the Gmail app can be downloaded and used to access your student email.

Access Account via GMAIL.COM
You can access your new Gmail account directly by going to https://www.gmail.com and entering your entire email address. Then, click Next which will forward you to the myLakeland login page where you will log in with your myLakeland username and password.
What is my email username and password?
Your email username is your entire email address and your password is your myLakeland password.
I forgot my password to student Gmail. What should I do?
Your password is your myLakeland password. You can reset your password using the myLakeland password reset page.
If that doesn't work, contact the Help Desk with the following information to reset your password:
- Lakeland ID number
- Full name
- Home Address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Last four digits of SS#
I need to change my password to student Gmail. What should I do?
Your password is your myLakeland password. You can reset your password using the myLakeland password reset page.
If that doesn't work, contact the Help Desk with the following information to reset your password:
- Lakeland ID number
- Full name
- Home Address
- Phone number
- Date of birth
- Last four digits of your Social Security Number
I don't know my username for student Gmail. What should I do?
Your username is your myLakeland username followed by @mail.lakelandcc.edu. If you do not know your myLakeland username, complete the Username Request Form (https://myportal.lakelandcc.edu/web/about/username/id-request) or contact the Help Desk with your:
- Lakeland ID number
- Full name
- Home Address on file
- Phone number on file

Is there an enterprise level spam filter?
Yes, student Gmail accounts are subject to Google's spam filters. The filters automatically place messages detected as spam in a user's Gmail spam folder.
What email client software is supported by the email system?
Any client software that utilizes IMAP.
How do I block spam/junk email?
Gmail tries to keep spam out of your inbox, but sometimes messages get through. If you see a spam message in your inbox:
- Open Gmail.
- Check the box to the left of the message or open the message.
- Near the top of the page, click Report Spam Report spam.
