For Students: Access to the Office Portal and all Office Portal software and drive space will be available as long as a student has access to myLakeland. Typically, that is about 2 years after the last class taken but removal of a student's account can happen at any time without notice. Once Lakeland removes a student's account, Microsoft provides 30 days to handle account migration.
For Employees: Access to the Office Portal and all Office Portal software and drive space will be available as long as an employee has access to myLakeland. Typically, that is until an employee leaves or retires (unless they are an adjunct faculty member, in which case their access is removed about 2 years after the last class taught). Access is based off Active Directory/myLakeland and is no different then the access employees are granted to their desktop or shared network drives.
