Safe Assign Error - Not Logged In Error

When attempting to access SafeAssign, I receive the following error message "Sorry, we do not think you are logged in to SafeAssign. Your session may have timed out. If you have received this message in error, please contact your system administrator."

If you get this error and you are logged into Blackboard, it means that the security/privacy settings on your web browser are set up to not allow 3rd party cookies.

Resolution

  • You'll need to change this setting to allow 3rd party cookies by following these steps:

    • For Microsoft Edge:

      1. Click More located on the top-right corner and select Settings.

      2. Scroll down and click View advanced settings.

      3. Under Cookies, choose Don't block cookies.

      4. Restart your browser. 

    • For Firefox:

      1. Click on Tools > Options > Privacy.

      2. Select Accept cookies from sites.

      3. Select Accept third-party cookies.

      4. Change "Keep until" to they expire.

    • For Safari:

      1. Click on Safari > Preferences > Security.

      2. Change "Accept cookies" setting it Always.
