You can now apply sensitivity labels to your files and emails.
To apply sensitivity labels in Microsoft Office applications, click on the Sensitivity button in the Home tab of the ribbon.
To apply sensitivity labels in Outlook online, click on the sensitivity stamp icon when composing an email.
The following sensitivity labels are available to apply:
Public or Instructional
This sensitivity security label designates documents that are okay for the public to have access to or are in use for instructional purposes. The document is not encrypted. All users can use this sensitivity label.
General Internal
This sensitivity security label designates documents that contain business data that is not intended for public consumption. However, the document can be shared with external partners, as required. The document is not encrypted. All users can use this sensitivity label.
Confidential and Sensitive Information
This sensitivity security label designates documents or email that contain personally identifiable information like social security number, driver's license, full date of birth, or combination of information. This document or email will be encrypted. All users can use this sensitivity label. The document or email will be encrypted, and a “CONFIDENTIAL PII Data (do not distribute)” footer will be applied.
FERPA
This sensitivity security label designates documents or email that contains data protected by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, for example academic record, grades, or transcripts. All users can use this sensitivity label. The document or email will be encrypted, and a “CONFIDENTIAL FERPA (do not distribute)” footer will be applied.
Financial - General
This sensitivity security label designates documents or email that contains protected financial data, such as Taxable ID, ACH, Credit Card or banking information for vendors, persons or the college. All users can use this sensitivity label. The document or email will be encrypted, and a “CONFIDENTIAL Financial (do not distribute)” footer will be applied.
HIPAA
This sensitivity security label designates documents or email that contains protected Health Care data, such as account numbers, medical condition, treatment for medical conditions. All users can use this sensitivity label. The document or email will be encrypted, and a “CONFIDENTIAL HIPAA (do not distribute)” footer will be applied.
