Joining a Course Waitlist and Waitlist Information

Course Waitlist Information

During the registration process, when a course is full, you have an option to join a waitlist. If a seat becomes available, the first student on the waitlist will receive a message in their Lakeland Student Email and have 24 hours from when the email was sent to register for the class. If the student fails to register during that period, the next student on the list will be notified.

If you miss your 24-hour registration period, you will have to add yourself back to the waitlist if you still want to take the course.

The option to join a waitlist for a course will end one week before the term begins. Any student still on a waitlist will be removed at that time.

Joining a Course Waitlist

During the registration process you may find courses that show as full. To join the waitlist, begin by clicking the Add button next to the course.

Notification of an Available Seat

If a seat becomes available, you will receive an email in your Lakeland Student Email. It will come from the Lakeland Registrar account and will have a subject line: Waitlist Notification. Please check your Lakeland Student Email daily if you joined the waitlist for a course.

After Receiving Notification of an Available Seat

Return to “Register for Classes” page in your myLakeland account.

In the “Summary” section at the bottom-right corner, click the drop-down next to the course and change “Wait Listed” to Web Registered.

Click Submit to save the change.
Changing Wait Listed to Web Registered

If you do not register for the course within 24 hours of the email notification, you will automatically drop from the waitlist and the next student will be contacted.

If you add yourself to a waitlisted class, check your Lakeland Student Email often.

Waitlisting a Class with a Time Conflict

The system will allow you to waitlist a class that has a time conflict with your other registered courses. However, if you should receive an email notification that you can register for the waitlisted course, you will need to drop any course with a time conflict before you will be able to register for the waitlisted course.
